If my faith were stronger, I would be able to overcome these challenges.
Does this sound familiar?
When we are hurting physically, we reach out for help. But when we are feeling overwhelmed emotionally, or when we are having difficulty in our relationships, we often think, “I should be able to handle this myself,” or “If my faith were stronger, I would be able to overcome these challenges.”
The truth is that if we don’t address those things that have us stuck, we can’t enter into a deeper relationship with God. Christian Therapy offers both the psychological and the spiritual resources that allow you to overcome the obstacles in your life.
Christine Muehlenweg is a licensed psychologist, with 40 years experience, who is able to help you deal with immediate problem circumstances in a manner that is consistent with Scripture. She provides meaning, hope, guidance, and direction through specific strategies and suggestions that directly address the problems you are facing.
Dr. Muehlenweg is skilled in working with couples and families as well as with individuals. She is highly qualified in the use of behavioral strategies, including behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dyadic developmental therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. Additionally, Dr. Muehlenweg is accomplished in the use of EMDR and CPT to address trauma, anxiety, and self-defeating behaviors. Therapies are problem-focused and solution-oriented. All interventions are tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of the individual, the couple, and/or the family.
As a life-long New Mexican, Dr. Muehlenweg received her doctoral degree from the University of New Mexico. She designed and directed an adolescent residential treatment center in Albuquerque, from 1981 until 1985. She began her private practice in 1984, and opened the doors to Christian Therapy Services in 1989. Christine and her husband, Bob (who was also born in Albuquerque), have been married for 42 years, and together raised three sons.
